Pefkos - Skyros Greece

The beautiful and inspiring hamlet of Pefkos is situated in an area that provides some truly stunning scenery. Surrounded by rich green vegetation, the colours blend perfectly with the various shades of blue in the sea. It's beauty and charm is instant the moment you arrive.

Pefkos is a perfect place to visit on Skyros for those who are seeking a peaceful place, where one can realx and unwind amongst the natural beauty.

The colourful harbour is a treat, and here you can enjoy a nice walk, admiring the colourful fishing boats in the sea. The whole area is a very traditional and unspoilt one, providing visitors with a very authentic setting.

The hamlet of Pefkos is located 11km west of the capital of Chora. In Pefkos, there are some very interesting places to visit, such as the quaint chapel of Agios Panteleimonas, that has some spectacular panoramic views stretching towards the southern part of the Skyros.

Each year, on the 27th July, a large religious festical takes place, honouring the name of the saint, and visitors are more than welcome to attend, where you can join in with the celebrations and festivities.

Another part of Pefkos worth paying a visit to is the bay of Agios Fokas, where you will find a charming small chapel. As you head here, you will pass along a very beautiful and piscturesque route.

For swimming, you can head to the main beach of the hamlet, or the other nearby beaches of Diapori and Agios Fokas. Here you will find beautiful clean waters, perfect for a refreshing swim during the hot summer months.
