Skyros is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece, with impressive natural beauty and an important historical presence dating back to the ancient years. It has preserved its authentic character and traditions, while at the same time offers visitors all the modern comforts.

Over the whole island visitors can find picturesque beaches, others secluded and others busier, all of them ideal destinations for relaxing and peaceful moments.

The local cuisine of Skyros is famous for the tastes and the innovative combinations of tastes and aromas, and is something that all visitors to the island should sample.

The area Trahi, is situated on the crossroad that leads to the airport of Skyrosand the village of Atsitsa ( 3km ), the beaches of Agios Petros and Agios Fokas ( 3 km ). Here you will find the "Perasma Taverna". Molos and Magazia, the busiest villages of Skyros, are just 6 minutes by car, while the beach kareflou is 5 km away.

It is here at the taverna that you will find a true oasis of tastes, where Mrs. Maria welcomes guests with her smile and her cooking skills. The taverna is a very beautiful place, decorated with stones and colorful flowers. The internal area has a strong Skyrian element, with beautiful woven materials and wooden crafted furniture, while the big fire place during the winter, creates a warm and cosy setting.

At the "Perasma Taverna" you will savor very good home made meals such as stuffed tomatoes and peppers, Mousaka, pastitsio, meat variety cooked either in the casserole, or the oven, as well as a variety of Skyrian specialities such as rooster with pasta ( pre-arranged ), casserole lamb or goat with lemon, meat balls, vegetables and salads, and of course local cheese, feta, cheddar and Xynotiri ( cream cheese ), that accompanies the Ladopita of Mrs Maria. To accompany you meal you can sample of the homemade wine from the tavernas own vine yard.

We must mention that all the food materials are always fresh and of the best quality, and are of our own production. From vegetables ( such as green beans ) meat and poultry, dairy products, fruits ( water melons and yellow melons, apricots ) and the wine, all of these are pure and made by taverna in their fields and derive from their live stocks. Also there are for sale dairy products, feta cheese, cheddar and trahanas ( dried pasta like, soup ingredient made by milk and flour ).

The "Perasma Taverna" is open all year round, and as is situated on the road that leads to magnificent beaches, is the ideal stop before or after the beach. Before you start your day on the beach, you can stock up with ladopita, made by Mrs Maria accompanied with xinotyri, which is a great supplement of the daily sandwich or cheese pie.

On your return, seated under the shade of the trees, you can enjoy the variety of meals. Always after the meal, is a delicious desert, either a home made sweet, or fresh fruit from the garden, or ladopita accompanied, this time with cinnamon and honey. There is a spacious parking area, and also a playground, where the visitors are very welcome to use with their children.
